It was a funny day for teams from the subcontinent, but India going through is not guaranteed.

Yeah you're right, India losing eased the pain. Anyway, lets count up the number of possible excuses:
1. The pitch was perfect for bowling at the start but began to dry up.
2. Pakistan wanted their "Brothers" in humanity to go forward ;-)
3. Pakistan wanted publicity, they thought speaking Urdu in press conferences won't be enough, how about losing to a team full of part timers!
4. A few of the Pakistani players thought about settling down in the Caribbean but were short of cash....
